How the Scholarship Started

The What A Day Scholarship Fund was established by Shannon and Ryan Jones. During the months leading up to the opening of the Zembrodt Education Center (ZEC), Shannon and Ryan were searching for a non-profit that they could partner with. The couple had recently lost their beloved Uncle Jerry. Their goal was to establish a scholarship to honor him, to help others similar to him, and to create something positive that makes them feel closer to their uncle instead of thinking about him in terms of a loss.

About Jerry

Jerry was a pillar in our family. He was quick-witted, charming, loved Johnny Cash, The Brady Bunch, and WWE Wrestling. Besides being a die-hard Cubs fan, he was darn near perfect. His greatest super power was taking ordinary, otherwise fleeting moments, and making them special for others. He made life sweeter for everyone around him and he didn’t even know it.
