Summer Work Experience

We are so excited to announce that we’ve secured our Summer Work Experience jobsite locations and that enrollment is open! The Summer Work Experience is a 3 week in-depth, hands-on program for students 14 and up who are interested in developing skills necessary for employment.

This summer, ZEC will be working with the Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, Keep Covington Beautiful, Be Concerned, and Master Provisions. These locations have agreed to welcome our students into their workplaces to help strengthen their employment skills.

Each week participants will recieve on-site work experience with job coaching. Employers will give job-specific tasks for students to complete. After each work day, our instructors will hold a post-work meeting to discuss the goals that we accomplished and the aspects of the job the each participant liked and dislike.

The program is designed to increase student’s social and vocational skills, as well as provide opportunities for them to explore their interests, abilities, and work preferences.

“The thing I liked most about the program was meeting new friends and learning new things. I learned about teamwork and working well with others.”
