Children’s Friendship
Children’s Friendship benefits children who need support in strengthening social and friendship skills. During each small group session, children learn a new skill and practice it with other group members. Children are given weekly assignments to help them apply the new skills in their daily lives. In a separate group, parents learn how to support their children in real work situations.
Skills Covered:
- Making a good first impression
- Conversing with other children
- Finding common interests with others
- Playing fairly and winning/losing graciously
- Resolving conflicts
- Handling rejection, teasing, and bullying
- Showing respect to other children and adults
Class Details:
- Open to children in 2nd through 5th grade
- 1-on-1 meetings are held from 5:00pm-6:00pm once per week
- The program is a 10-week program
